Long Distance Rules
EXPERIENCE:
1. MUST have done some 5+ rides with the group to understand group dynamics.
2. Must be comfortable to cruise at 10%+10 of the Speed Limit (we want to stay in the left lane so we should be faster than the traffic. Can’t have traffic cutting us from the right )
3. Be able to follow directions from the leads and the sweeps (or other senior members of the group)
4. Come for the experience - not the destination.
5. Must be comfortable with fluid plans.
6. PRO RIDER or ADVANCED RIDER COURSE is recommended (case by case for people who don't have it)

MOTORCYCLE:
1. Bike must have a range of a minimum of 120 miles per refuel.
2. Bike must be comfortable cruising at 85-90 mph. That is what our general cruising speed is. This is set for the safety of the group as this group runs at least 10% faster than the traffic for our safety
3. Service must be done in advance of the trip - Long rides push the bikes to their limits. Service must include tires, oil, brakes, and overall check so the bike is prepped for long rides.
4. Make sure your luggage is packed securely. Try your setup at least a day before the ride to make sure you and the bike will be comfortable with the luggage at high speed.
5. Make sure to review your License, Registration & Insurance coverage before you leave
6. Carry Water. Can't stress enough on this. Every time you stop for gas or take a break, drink water.

GEAR:
1. Full Face helmet or At least Modular. NO HALF-HELMETS!!
2. Jacket & Pants with proper protection
3. Boots. Either leather or motorcycle boots
4. Sena 50s or Sena Spider ST/RT . We use comms & these are good to have.
5. Rain Gear (Don't get cheap ones as they won't last 15mins riding 70mph)
6. Winter gear or min a liner or hoodie.
7. Glasses & Visors
Long-distance rides take a major toll on the rider and the motorcycle, so having a positive mindset is important.
All these rules are being put in place not just like that, but to ensure the safety of everyone riding.
